SEASON 1: NEARSTALGIA BAY
SURF NOIR WORLD is an evolving narrative experiment told through animation, music, print, and whatever mediums its participants decide. The world expands through what's revealed, interpreted, and imagined by the people exploring it.
C/O Surf Noir Studios.
Surf Noir takes place in a not-so-distant future where rising oceans have swallowed the world's coastlines, dragging history beneath the surface. What remains survives thanks to ORS, a newly discovered mineral whose properties, when harnessed by WAVE-TECH, halted total collapse.
Once a continuous coastal metropolis, Surf Noir is now a fractured archipelago of city-states, bound together by proximity, shared infrastructure, and quiet dependency. Life here is stable...and controlled. It's just comfortable enough to keep questions at bay.
But what is the cost of comfort?
It can be felt in the gaps between broadcasts. In the things that never make the news. In the growing sense that survival isn't the same as freedom, and that ORS may have changed more than the tides.
Nobody knows the full story.
It only takes shape through those who explore it.

Aza is the heart of Excursion Club. Optimistic, stubborn, and convinced that the world is still worth exploring, even when everything seems designed to make you stay in one place.
Some characters will eventually exist beyond the story itself —responding, assisting, and evolving through real interaction.
"When I had no where else to go, I had to imagine a place..." - Cam Murdoch, Founder
There is no roadmap, at least not in the traditional sense.
Surf Noir isn't built on fixed deadlines or rigid milestones. Creative worlds don't unfold that way.
Instead, we work in phases of discovery. Ideas become timelines once the conditions for producing them exist. This allows the world to grow intentionally, without rushing outcomes or over-promising details, while still being transparent about what's taking shape.
Some things will be previewed. Some will arrive quietly. Not everything is meant to be announced in advance.
